This is an explanation on trench warfare in WW1.

What is trench warfare, it is a type of fighting where both sides
build deep trenches as a defence against the enemy.

The trenches that were dug in the war helped provide cover for
the soldiers.  It also shielded them from the opposing sides of
machine guns.  Medics were able to rush injured soldiers to
their camp without getting shot down.

Rats were bad in the trenches they ate all the supplies for the
soldiers.  The soldiers got so sick of rats they would bring cats
to the trenches to kill the rats.  Most soldiers would kill the rats
with their bayonets.

Trench foot was an infection that both sides got when their feet
were too damp for too long.  20,000 men were infected by the
trench foot and 95,000 died from it.  Some of the trenches had
planks on the ground some they wouldn’t get trench foot so fast.

In conclusion, the WW1 trench warfare was a horrible place
and many things can happen to you.
